US veteos UN resolution against Israel




The United States has vetoed a U.N. resolution "condemning" an Israeli attack in Gaza that killed 18 Palestinian civilians and urging a quick withdrawal of Israeli forces from the area.

Nine of the council's 15 members voted for the measure, while four abstained: Britain, Denmark, Japan and Slovak (Britain I get it, Denmark? Is it really because of the cartoons things?Way to go extremists, Slovak: I'm sure it has to do with some shady deals, including human traffic with Israel, but Japan? Why?
